    There is variety of culture in Melaka like Portuguese, Malay, Chinese, Baba Nyonya as the sailor back then.Melaka has a lot to offer its tourists in terms of its rich, varied cultures, ethnic customs, historical sites, and religious festivals and traditional celebrations within the city itself and in the outlying districts of Alor Gajah and Jasin.The Peranakan and Portuguese descendants in Melaka today are the result of the state's long history with trading and colonisation by Oriental and Western power.
       Peranakan culture started as Chinese migrants came over to Melaka because of works centuries ago. As their starting adopting Malay customs and cultures, theirs is also become a unique heritage unlike any other. Peranakans are also referred to a 'Straits Chinese'. This culture speaks Baba Malay mix with some Hokkien as their mother tongue language. The song that are famous among the Malaysian are known as 'Dongdang Sayang' .

  'Babas' refer to male Peranakans while 'Nyonya' refer to females. 
     The Nyonya women dress in sarong kebaya with Malay decorative brooches and intricately designed jewelry of silver and gold.

    Portugese Culture 
                           The Portuguese are very religious Catholics and speak a language call Cristan(Cristao).
Portugese dance
    Usually, they speak a distinct language which is a Creole (fusion of two languages) based on Portugese and Malay. The Portuguese community in Malacca are a merry bunch, often celebrating with loud dances, music and song. Their most famous tune is the 'Jinggling Nyonya', a happy dance-song routine. They've also brought their food; 'Curry Debeli' is among the most famous of their dishes.
